A 19th century Turkish embroidery. This very special antique textile was most likely hand-embroidered for a bride's dowry. Silk and gold metallic threads are embroidered onto natural linen.
We have use a cornflower blue raw silk for the body of the pillow and fastened it with shell buttons for a back closure. Tiny shell buttons have been hand sewn in a decorative pattern to the front of the pillow, and hand-made silk tassels are attached to the corners.
