The textile is a 19th century Turkish hand-embroidery, possibly made for a bride's dowry.  Silk and metallic thread is embroidered onto  linen.  The hand-made body of the pillow is crafted with a cornflower blue raw silk.  Hand-crafted indigo and natural linen tassels are sewn to the pillow's two corners.  Delicate shell buttons are hand-sewn in a decorative motif to the front of the pillow, and used to close the pillow's back.
