While we are more acquainted with the Japanese silk obi, there is another obi, hand-loomed and worn by people living in more rural places of Japan in the 19th Century.  This textile's beauty is subtle, and invites you to imagine it in a modern, country or traditional environment. Soft shades of muted blue gray, green and charcoal  cotton are tightly woven into a classic simplicity.  A charcoal linen is paired with the antique textile to make the Meadow Mist pillow.  The tassels are crafted with hand-dyed pure linen yarn and anchored to the two corners of the pillow.  Shell buttons provide a decorative closing for the pillow.
