This is a soft cotton textile, believed to be French, possibly late 19th or early 20th century.  The patina softened lavender, white blossoms and cherry are a rich contrast for the French flax linen used in the body of the pillow.  Hand-made  wool and ribbon tassels are fastened to the pillow with enameled Victorian buttons.  The pillow includes an invisible zipper closing. The pillow is fully lined with re-purposed cotton for added durability and character.
